the packaging is absolutely stunning! The gold-colored tube looks absolutely stunning. The lipstick case feels heavy and sturdy, absolutely luxurious. Unlike the satin formula, the matte ones do not have the YSL logo engraved on the bullet of the lipstick . The shade number is printed at the bottom of the tube. This lipstick has that typical YSL scent – fruity-floral fragrance and the scent doesn’t fade away quickly. “Rouge Rock” is a classic blue-based red which is a universally flattering shade. I prefer these matte shades over the satin formula. This lipstick feels better and also lasts better than the satin formula. YSL mats are highly pigmented and offers medium coverage in a single swipe. It can be built up to full coverage in two swipe. It literally feels like applying butter on the lips. The matte formula sits comfortably on the lips and feels very hydrating and lightweight. The best part of YSL mats is that do not accentuate any dry patches of my lips. It also does not bleed or feather around my lips. When it comes to the lasting power, these do last 5 to 6 hours and also leaves a stain behind. Mats also survive in between the meals.
